Virgin Money - 0% credit card transfer

I've just checked my 0% CC account to see when the 'date' is up. To my shock realised that even though the date is not up I have been charged interest.  This is because a couple of times I have 'topped-it-up' with what appeared to be the same conditions but apparently are not.

I have moved my debt out of the account now - but been told I may still need to pay interest next month.  Has anyone else been caught out by this?

    • Up to 29 months at 0% interest on balance transfers made in the first 60 days. Fees apply.
    • 12 months at 0% interest on money transfers made in the first 60 days. Fees apply.
    • 3 months at 0% interest on spending.
By 'topped-it-up' do you mean transfers after 60 days and/or purchases after 3 months?
If so, I don't think many people been caught, as the above is on the main web page, one doesn't need to dig dipper.

Thanks for looking at that. No - this is slightly different.  A couple of years ago I arranged a longer term 0% term for XX months. When I topped it up early 2024 I was led to believe it was the same arrangement/conditions.

With most cards you've only got a short window to utilise the deal. From what you've outlined, you've used the card after the window has passed, so the standard rate would apply.

The statements should say when each '0%' period ends and usually with Virgin, repayments will be applied to the balance that either attracts interest or will end soonest (in your favour).

Might be worth reviewing your statements, T&Cs and potentially a call to the bank incase something else is triggering the interest?
