    If your registration has been cloned, it might be worth applying the DVLA to get a new reg for your car, otherwise this could keep on happening. Not sure of the exact process, but they'll need some evidence/persuading.

    Meanwhile, there may be a marker in the PNC against your number plate. So be prepared to be pulled over and carry your documentation with you to save any hassle with police should this happen.

    Yes I believe you can write to the DVLA. Apparently they only change about 3% of those that apply.

    Also, if you have a private plate it is less likely to be cloned apparently.

    it looks like this has been going on for a while. This post is from 2019.

    I am not sure is if the police find the cloned plates and culprit, whether they remove the registration from the database? Wishful thinking but I suspect not.

    If not then insist that the DVLA's data complaints team place a warning flag on your vehicle records that it's VRM has been used on a cloned vehicle which is (make/model).
    PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
