I just got a new Samsung phone and since I got it the photos I take are uploading to Etsy sideways. The only way I can fix it is to take all my photos landscape but this makes a lot of my photos look too wide with too much surrounding background showing. I take hundreds of photos so editing every single one of the will be far too time consuming (I typically list at least 7 items a day with 10 photos on each listing).

I think it's something to do with settings on my new phone but I have no idea what or how to fix it.

Can anyone help me with this please?

Thanks in advance.

ETA: If I crop each photo slightly it will uploads the right way but this is still too time consuming.

i have no.idea but it MAY be that your new phone is taking photos at a higher resolution than the old one and this is causing a problem

Try turning down the resolution on the camera

It sounds like the photo uploader Etsy uses is not respecting the rotation flag in the metadata that your phone will be adding to tell the photo viewer which way is up.  Or more likely the uploader is stripping out all the metadata so the viewer can't tell which way is up and just has to rely on the pixel order.

The only way around this is to edit the images as you have found.  Find a system that can batch edit so it is quicker for you.

1.Tell a AI chat bot that you have a Samsung phone & its model. Explain the problem you are having.
    2. Ask it what phone settings will correct the problem you are having uploading to Etsy.
    3. Follow the instructions you will be given.
    4. Your problem should be fixed.
    5. Try using either of these two:
