I've decided to go with the TP Link Kasa TRVs especially given they're like £23 on Amazon atm. They don't however have smart thermostats which is kind annoying
Would the Meross smart thermostat be decent for me?

I'm sure the Meross stuff would probably work better with Meross TRVs but they're also like £40/TRV which adds up when you're buying 10

How's your system going to be controlled? If eg. you're using a ZigBee gateway as your controller, you don't really need a £60 thermostat that you're going to put on a wall and ignore. Just a temperature sensor, a smart switch and a bunch of rules the gateway follows. If Home Assistant, then similar. But with far more options.N. Hampshire, he/him. I could just add those temperature sensors thenQrizB said:How's your system going to be controlled? If eg. you're using a ZigBee gateway as your controller, you don't really need a £60 thermostat that you're going to put on a wall and ignore. Tbh I looked at HA, and whilst I have the technical skills given what I do in my day job, I simply cba so I'm looking at the Homey Pro to centralise smart home "stuff"0 -
Home Assistant does have a rather steep learning curve, but a basic system can be set up fairly quickly. Using something like DietPi takes a lot of the pain out installing the software. But I would advise against using an sd card (I was killing them in under three months). Currently setting up a new system on an x86 box with a 240GB ssd using DietPi.waqasahmed said: Tbh I looked at HA, and whilst I have the technical skills given what I do in my day job, I simply cba so I'm looking at the Homey Pro to centralise smart home "stuff"
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

I have tbf seen that about memory cards. Looking above, I've bought the Homey Pro given there's a discount code that I can use, and I'll get home assistant too. I work with IT in my day job and it honestly isn't even about learning. It's about effort and I'd rather outsource the effort as much as possible. I figure that buying Homey Pro AND making a HA out of a Pi or similar, would do me given that Homey can allegedly do most of what you can do with HA but not everything, so that's good. I can relegate HA to "stuff that doesn't yet work in Homey"FreeBear said:
