Is this card likely to be available for Apple Pay anytime soon? I was able to add the Pulse/New Day card to my wallet.

I don't think it ever will.
It has to do with what Barclays have to pay to Apple, combined with what they pay you in Amazon vouchers for using the product.
The only thing you can hope for is for Amazon to come to a different agreement with either Amazon or Apple, while continuing to pay you the same reward1
