Debt after death

Options
In my will I predict there will be very little if anything at all, we also don't own any property. My 2 sons are named in my will in the unlikely event of any funds available. I'm currently paying money back to the dwp. In the event of my death will my sons be responsible for this?     Tia

No your son's are not responsible for your debt.  No one else is either unless they are somehow linked to it - if you and your husband received housing benefit that needed to be repaid he would also be responsible - I believe.

Sometimes a creditor will chase a debt telling next of kin to pay to clear it but all that needs to be said is that there was nothing in the estate after the cost of the funeral.
