Misled by car dealer?

We have just purchased a 22 plate Skoda Karoq. It was advertised as only having one key. We still purchased the car but presumed the only issue with the one key would be the risk if we lost that one. Having now bought the car we have discovered that we are unable to set ourselves up as the 'primary user' of the car on the onboard computer system and can't access any of Skoda's online services including it would appear the service history of the car. You have to have two keys to be able to access any of that. We were not aware of this prior to buying the car and the dealer who sold it to us did not hint at any of these issues either. The dealership we bought it from is a Ford dealership, not Skoda. Skoda have quoted us £350 for a second key. Have we been misled by the dealer, or is it reasonable that since they don't specialist in Skoda's they may not have known this either? Any help appreciated.

I would have thought they would have had it in as PX against a car they have sold. Not unusual for them not to know the ins & outs of the Skoda system really.0

It was advertised as having one key. It has one key.
What was misleading?
How did you see the service history before buying?

No you've not been misled.
A 22 plate with just the one key is weird though.0 -
It seems to have been a thing for a few years at least, and apparently to prove you own the car (though I'd have thought the V5 and receipt would suffice).
There's only a handful of hits for it online so I imagine it's not that well known outside of Skoda so I wouldn't expect the Ford dealer to know about it. I'm not sure if any of the unavailable services would be critical to the cars usage but you can always ask Ford and see what they say.
I'd strongly recommend getting a 2nd key anyway, it'll be better to need to use it than get a locksmith, and it'll be easier to sell on again.

I recently set my wife up as the primary user on her 24 reg, Karoq, to access all the services on MySkodaApp. The number of keys never came into it. Are you aware of the BriSkoda owners forum for advice ?Mortgage free
