i'm filling out a little form the solicitor has give me before they do the probate forms for me and it's asking about contents of the home how in depth should be when doing this the furniture is old anyway so isn't worth much at all.And clothes aren't worth much used are they,Would you just group things together and say by room kitchen .miscellaneous small kitchen items £300 total, kitchen table £50,Lounge tv £50,sofa 50,reclining chair £50,? So do you have to mention each furniture item and even curtains etc?

I would just lump the whole lot together as a nominal sum. Most second hand household goods have little vallue so I would go with £500 or £1000.2

Thank you, that makes sense to me0

For my Dad's estate our solicitor advised that unless he had anything specific of real value - Rolex watch, sports car, that sort of thing - then not to bother as HMRC would not be interested.2

No value in normal household goods. Moreover, it could cost a couple of thousand to clear.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
