It needs to be reported as soon as it is received.

Need to report on UC claim being a student and about money being received. There is no option under the report a change option. She needs to send a journal message confirming date she started the University course. And then UC will ask for documents to be provided confirming the course information and student finance details.
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.

The answer is yes. Out of interest, what sort of bursary is it? Many are ignored for UC purposes.

If there's a student maintenance loan available to her, it will affect your UC, regardless of whether she takes that loan.
