Also why? Any insulation is better than none -unless its spray foam onto the roof tiles.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

I had it removed because it was the white spray foam and needed taking out , sorry I should have said that in my question. I was advised that I could claim back my initial payment because it was the wrong type and we were not advised that it would be difficult to sell the house.0

If you really need help you have to answer the questions.Who installed the insulation? Who removed it? Who told you and what exactly? If it was different companies, I wouldn't be surprised if the second one told you lies to get the job and to get paid. Theoretically you can claim pretty much anything through court - and this isn't a lie. Whether you can do this successfully and recover the money is a different story.0

The initial installers of the white foam were 'Huntsman Building Solutions', they said that it wasn't the one that was bad for a roof , it was an Canadian make that was breathable and did not cause trouble. It was removed by 'Remove Sprayfoam Limited'. What I am looking for is what I have to put in a letter to claim, I understand that I need to lodge a section 74/75 against the company who installed it , I have both the receipts from the installers and de-installers, I paid with a credit card. Thank you for your help.0

Have you got a detailed written report from the removal company or an independent surveyor as to the problems it was causing and why it needed removing ?With that you then start a s75 claim with your credit card as they will be jointly liable with the installers - trying to claim from the installer will likely be an uphill struggle. The card provider will try to push you to claim from the installer but you don't have to, they are equally liable in law.0
