I don't have smart TRVs, just regular manual ones. One thing I have noticed is when they start shutting down radiators, it reduces the amount of heat that can be dissipated. At low flow temperatures, with a reduced number of My boiler (Viessmann 050) will modulate down to 3.2kW. The radiators will dissipate 12.5kW at a flow temperature of 70°C. At 40°C, this drops to just 4kW - Take just one of the big radiators out, and I fall below 3kW, and the boiler short cycles.If you are wanting to maximise boiler efficiency, do your sums to make sure you can radiate sufficient heat when the boiler modulates down to minimum output.Her courage will change the world.
