Are we all braced to be working through our spreadsheets for the, probable, base rate change?

Sounds as though it's likely.

I bet am not alone in then waiting for the institutions then reacting to this and them adjusting their variable products.

Then to plough through my Savings spreadsheet colour coding the rows / products that have and might change.

Keeps me out of mischief!

  • I'm not tech savvy enough to keep spreadsheets, everything is on a memo on my phone with the majority of it coded.

I'm hoping for an 'unchanged' but doubt it.

Just makes the fixed rate savers even more of a priority.

Can anybody list the fixed rate savers, because you can no longer just scroll through Bridlington' s lists to identify them - you have to click on hundreds of links instead.

What do you mean by 'list the fixed rate savers' - are you trying to identify products that are currently available?  That seems to be supported by that thread*, or is readily found on the likes of Moneyfacts, but if that's not what you're hoping to find then perhaps worth clarifying....

    * Edit: I was looking at the wrong thread, about regular savers not fixed ones!

I have a Skipton savings account that tracks 0.19% below the base rate - does anyone know how quickly this is likely to catch up with today's decision?

Your product details should tell you. Their Base Rate Tracker (Issue 6) is 14 days

    https://www.skipton.co.uk/-/media/skipton-co-uk/pdf/savings/Omni-Product-PDFs/Base-Rate-Tracker.ashx (PDF)

"the interest rate is variable, so it can go up or down dependent on the Bank of England Base Rate. If the Bank of England Base Rate changes, the new interest rate on your account will apply without notice, no more than 14 days after the change is effective."

They have updated the rate on their update page but not the .pdf that contains the rates and 'effective from' date

You were actually correct to be looking at the regular savers because that's what I meant, although I failed to specify it.
I thought @Bridlington1 had changed 300 regular savers into links like this, so you could no longer quickly scroll to find whatever specification you require. However, I now find that they have been retained in original format on a different thread (what a relief that was!)

No, I have better things to do plus a difference of 0.25% makes very little difference to what I have.
