Morning all. As forecast, it was very cold overnight and this morning there was thick frost everywhere. Now we have a beautiful blue cloudless sky, no wind, but there doesn't seem to be any warmth in the sun.
Yesterday I had my walk out, returned one book and borrowed another, deposited soft plastics in the Co-op's recycling bin and bought a couple of things, one of which was their frozen food deal, a mix & match 3 for £4 offer. I chose 3 boxes of battered fish fillets, two per box; with some chips and peas (or whatever) they make a nice Friday fish supper. I managed to shoehorn them into the freezer so that's my Friday teas sorted for a few weeks.
When the general waste bins were emptied yesterday I collared the crew to ask why our recycling bins weren't being done. These large communal bins have lids that are locked - you have to "post" your items through a slot in the lid, a bit like a giant letterbox - and they said they either didn't have a key or the right key to unlock the lids! What, since November???? I tried to ring the council but gave up after hearing I was number whatever in the queue and the approximate waiting time would be 30 minutes. And it's not a free phone number either. Instead I've fired off a strongly worded email so we'll see what response that brings. Sorry, rant over.
It's hairdresser day today and, if I remember rightly, she's put up her prices from this month. Tbf, I'm surprised she's lasted this long before doing that. When I get back I have some "repairs" to do - ie sticking broken things back together - and then just pottering. Tea tonight is a prawn salad with sponge pudding and custard for afters.
I hope you all have a good day with no mishaps or setbacks getting in the way. Take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.11
