Skipton loyalty accounts

Last year I opened a Skipton easy access account keeping £1 in order to get a loyalty account at some point
this year I have opened the member regular saver
my question is do I need to keep the easy access account open or can I close it without affecting the regular saver

I'm unsure for Skipton specifically, but I recall something in the past where people had issues where a BS only considered their single longest uninterrupted stretch of account history for loyalty products, rather than the total length of all accounts combined. Safest bet would be to keep the easy access saver independently to your loyalty saver, primarily for account longevity, but also so you retain an account for when your RS matures or you close it down.proudgecko said:Last year I opened a Skipton easy access account keeping £1 in order to get a loyalty account at some point

It's no hardship to keep it open it's only a £1 after allproudgecko said:Last year I opened a Skipton easy access account keeping £1 in order to get a loyalty account at some point

The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.0 -

You may be thinking of Yorkshire BS.

Agreed. I tend to keep my longest account open with the minimum amount to ensure longetivity, even if other accounts overlapping provide continuous membership.changearound1 said:PRAISETHESUN said:

When opening an account with a society I haven't been a member of before, once it's matured I keep the minimum in it to keep membership and access to online servicesI consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?2 -
Closing EA account won't affect your regular saver. However, it is a good practice to make sure you don't have gaps in your membership. Keeping £1 EA account (usually these do last forever) makes things easier, you don't need to worry about the gaps between regular savers.proudgecko said:Last year I opened a Skipton easy access account keeping £1 in order to get a loyalty account at some point
