I am still waiting for my card as I too have applied for the switch offer. Obviously I need to make 5 separate debit card purchases, does anyone know if this is also applicable for online purchases and can I make them on the same day?0

if the payment is by debit card and you make 5, that is 5, they do not impose limits on days.
