I wish to buy an item in Europe (Germany)
The item is a car part, costs €1400 +(€100 postage and packaging)
It is a spoiler that weighs roughly 5kg and is roughly 1.5m long
Anyone know how to calculate the VAT/custom charges to UK please? I don’t understand how to get the correct price to expect

Be dependent on exchange rates at the time of importation. Around £260 I'd estimate.1

Is the seller VAT registered in Germany? If so, you need to find out if the quoted price includes VAT or not.Exporting it out of the EU, they should not add German VAT (Mehrwehrsteuer or MwSt) and you will just pay UK VAT on import plus the clearance fee as mentioned.
