Small Business Rates Relief

I previously worked from home and didn't use any room exclusively for business purposes. I therefore didn't pay business rates.
I am now renting an office with a rateable value of £10,000.
My home is now just a correspondence address (in case I change office in the future).
Am I entitled to small business rates relief on these facts?
Thank you!

I can't see why not?
If you're concerned, check with your local council and get it in writing.

That's what I thought.
I made the application for small business rates relief and the council has sent me a bill!0 -
Hopefully, you'll receive a revised bill once the SBBR has been granted.
In the last couple of years, I've moved from a large unitary authority who were consistently poor, to a much smaller one, who (so far) seem to be much better.
I would keep good records, they might ask for details, it might take a couple of months but should get resolved without too much difficulty. Good luck with it...1 -
There are two processes. The bill will have been raised due to a change of tenancy. The relief will be dealt with separately as the previous occupier may not have been eligible for relief.1

Thank you for your comments. It was a bit disconcerting to receive the bill and I did email them to question it as I can do without additional prompts to pay before they get round to determining my application for the relief.0
