Hi,
I am selling a couple of bits on ebay and would like to know the best way to post them so as to cover myself incase I have any comeback from a buyer. I've read alot of stories on here about not being protected if a buyer says they havent received an item/or its broken on delivery etc, and just want to make sure that I have every avenue covered!
Thanks!

Make sure if they pay via paypal, their address is showing 'Confirmed', if it isn't refund the money and ask them to confirm it and re-pay, or pay via a different method.
Always send by at least Recorded delivery or equivalent by courier if the item goes for more than £32 then send by special delivery.I Hate Jobsworths!!!0 -
You need to make sure the buyer has a confirmed address otherwise you won't have seller protection with paypal no matter how you send it. If they have a confirmed address then you need to send it special delivery.0

Don't send it abroad - it will be uninsurable by RM.My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
Thanks for that advice. Just two things - how do I know if a buyers address is confirmed or not? Whats the difference between it being confirmed or not?0

Don't forget to photograph everything and make note of all serial and imei numbers just in case of problems in the future. It may also be worth mentioning on the auction page that photos have been taken and that all numbers have been recorded, it might scare off some potential miscreants.
Postage must be by Special Delivery , not recorded delivery, or a trackable courier like DHL. Recorded delivery only says its been delivered, special can be tracked to where you sent it.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -

Click on the paypal payment and check that it says 'Address: Confirmed'
A confirmed address validates your seller protection. If you want seller protection and the payment doesn't show a confirmed address, refund it.My TV is broken!

Also make a note of the serial number (i think its the serial) incase they say it has got damaged and send you a faulty one and they sell the one you sold them + make a profit
Also take a picture of the phone serial number for proof

definatly special delivery about this time
last year I sent a parcel only £12.99
but sent it recorded and never noticed
it was to that persons work place a
huge factory someone signed for it
and it never reached the person it
was intended for had to refund in
the end after much discussion.I
always insist on S/D when its a
work address on ebay/paypal.
Also UK only bidders because you get all kinds
of overseas scammers for this type of thing.:j:j:j0
