Halifax app - "You have a new message" notification

Android - notification bar at the top. 
However, if I pull the bar down I see only the above message and no any other information (probably because the app is locked with the "App lock"?). If I tap the notification, it directs me to the app. And when I login I cannot find any notifications in the app. This makes the notifications annoying and pointless.

Any ideas/suggestions?

Loads, but the last one is "Current account statement" dated 23 Jan. However, only today I had at least 3 notifications.

Direct debit notifications perhaps, they are notifications that don't turn up in messages.

Not DDs in my case, but close.

For the record - I switched off App Lock for this particular app, and now notifications became informative:

£123.45: Payment received into your account ending 6789

It's worth saying that in my case App Lock is a built-in setting (not an app) of my Xiaomi. I also see an app with the same name on Google Play - possibly it works better.
