Help re VW finance and (thought may be too late)diesel emmissions

hiya, I bought an audi A3 (low emissions model!) back in March 2008 but foolishly decided to purchase with a cherished numberplate.  Every time I go to apply for either the emissions (historically through several firms) and lately re the high interest charged on finance I give the number plate and this was changed over onto a fiesta in later years and then sold with the same plate.  No-one will allow me to progress but I have located the VIN number of the vehicle and also have the agreement number, dates and also the interest rate.  Is there some way this can be progressed at all, or have I lost that opportunity by not having the number plate the car will now be under?

"Low emissions" referred to the CO2 figure on which VED was based.

"Dieselgate" was over the NOx emissions, relative to the US limit - which was far lower than the European limit.

Signing up to the VW claims closed years ago, and it's over two years since VW settled with the claimants.

You bought a second hand Audi in 2008 (how old was it?).

Cars affected were from 2009-2015

So what are you trying to claim for?

You'd need to know the plate the car was allocated when its private plate came off.
