I understand why employers can give away free or discounted shares but the OP should ask themselves if they would have otherwise bought these shares to meet their personal investment objectives and the answer in the vast majority of cases it likely to be no as holding individual shares is unlikely to be suitable for most people's needs.6 -
Holding shares in the company you are also working for, might be thought as high risk, if these shares are a major part of your wealth.1
