As a 2008 car all its depreciation had happened long before the first incident. The value is therefore driven by the general market and the price of a running banger has gone up.
The other problem is its unclear if you are talking about the money you received or the value of the car. The first case would almost certainly have been net of your excess, in the second case with a known third party the excess may have been waived

Your 1st claim will have included the excess, as it would be classed as a at fault (due to no 3rd party to claim from)
