Hi,
My 2023-24 self assessment was missed marriage allowance included tax payment and I want to claim a tax refund. However, I could not find a way to apply a tax refund. I tried click "Request a repayment" at my online account and the system have just show "Your Self Assessment records show you have no amounts available for repayment." I ask to HMRC by chat and phone, but also no one came to answer me.
Anybody can suggest me a way to get the refund back. Thanks.

I click "No" for question "do you want to claim marriage allowance by transferring 10% of your personaal allowance to your partner?" in my self assessment and my wife have click "Yes".sheramber said:Did you tick the box on your return that you were claiming marriage transfer allowance?https://www.gov.uk/marriage-allowance/how-to-applyApply through Self Assessment
If you’re transferring your Personal Allowance to your partner, fill out the Marriage Allowance section on your return. If you’re receiving the allowance, leave the Marriage Allowance section of your return blank.
If you both send a Self Assessment tax return, the person transferring the allowance should file theirs at least 3 days before the person receiving the allowance.

The marriage allowance transfer does not show as increased allowances in your tax calculation.
The amount is deducted, as a credit, from your tax bill.
