Morning everyone
No work for me today - I have my new-to-me bedroom furniture being delivered at some point from our big Salvation Army shop, they'll also take my old furniture away to sell. I'll have to paint the wall where the old wardrobe is as the new one is smaller...luckily I have paint left. Also have a repair man coming from the council this afternoon...three of my door handles have come off and my front door handle has metallic paint peeling off and I've got it all taped up. I assumed it was metal until I cut my hand on it one day....plastic with a thin metallic coating.
Little one won't be back at school today she had bad diarrhoea yesterday and her sugars kept dropping really low, DD will phone the RVI today for some advice.
The show I stewarded for at our local cinema yesterday was a broadcast screening of Les MIs 40th anniversary...it was excellent and almost a sell out.
I'd best get on with some jobs, I'm hoping the furniture comes sooner rather than later so I can get the painting out of the way.
Always Allie I hope you enjoy your holiday
Wickedlady hope your heating gets sorted
Have a good day everyone x10 -
Morning all. We have sun again! In fact, it's set to be fine all week apart from tomorrow's blip when it's forecast for light rain. A bit milder too for a couple of days, then back to "normal" ie chilly, especially overnight.
Yesterday was a good day. Don't you just love it when everything goes to plan.First off a short walk and back in time for the new MW delivery. A bit smaller than my last one but it does what I need it to do and it didn't break the bank. I've placed a grocery delivery order for tomorrow - hopefully the only one for February - because I'm aiming for another Low Spend month. I had a bit of a dry run in January and it seemed to work out fine, although I have to be mindful there was some Xmas stuff in hand that has now gone. Last night's TV was a double helping of Home Fires followed by Call the Midwife, then a Garage Sale Mystery. The last wasn't my normal fare but it was OK - sometimes you need a bit of mindless viewing that doesn't tax the little grey cells too much.
What's on the cards for today? Another walk - make hay while the sun shines (literally), liver/bacon/onions to go in the SC for tea and yet more decluttering. I have a big bag of cables to sort through, I'm sure they're not all needed anymore. I didn't do any baking yesterday so maybe today.
Allie - Enjoy your break in Wales.
Coxy - I have two small cross stitch kits to do; they were supposed to be for Xmas but I didn't get round to it in time. I'll do them during the summer months when it's too warm for knitting.
TA - Hope the hairdresser isn't too scissor happy!
WL - Keep warm, hope the boiler situation gets sorted quickly.
dp1 - So sorry to hear LO isn't well again.
Nanny - I hope the sleep fairy visited you last night.
Right, it's time to make a start so I'll wish everyone a good day. The usual hugs where needed or wanted. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.10 -
Morning! Not sunny but not raining, can't say fairer than that at this point in the year. Went out with OHs mum and stepdad on Saturday, great food, we had a nice time but it was very early when we got back which threw me out time wise, I kept thinking it was hours later. Went to the allotment yesterday and did some stuff, too much stuff, but then went shopping and made a cottage pie, verdict, still not as nice as OHs mums, but much better than my usual. My fault, i eked out the meat with some lentils. Today I am still tidying the tools and bits and bobs that are going back under the stairs. I'm trying to remember that the object is not to cram in as much as possible but be able to find things more easily and reslistically, when exactly will I be using the tools I have again, or so much, or at all?Allie, have a lovely time away. Suffolksue, you too! dp1, happy new furniture day. Hope the docs can suggest a course for the LO. WL, fingers crossed for central heating fixing today! Take care all, bit nippy today, wrap up poodles....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi11

Morning
Weather is looking bright, crisp and cold but Ive opened my flat door and the buildings front door (I am on the ground floor) because its the type of weather to give the flat and hall way a good airing.
Bedclothes are changed and the wash should be finished by the time I type this-then I will hang it up. I dry all my clothes inside as I don't have a back garden and the front is on a busy main road eventually I think all pollution from cars would make the clothes not as fresh.
I watched Call the Midwife last night it was a good episode.
Tonight I think Ill have mash greens and chicken. Not sure about lunch a toastie sounds nice and I have all the things for it.
Day off, usual pottering. Washing machine is done so Ill go sort the clothes best wishes and enjoy Monday9 -
Hello all, another night of tossing and turning, I need the Sandman so send him my way if you see him please.
Yesterday I did a few little tasks then watched the latest Mad Max film, Furiosa. We both enjoyed it and even though it was 3hrs long the time passed quickly.
Today it's mizzling but we're not going out anyway. This morning I have ordered dad's meds online and cleaned down the kitchen worktops plus the sinks. I want to carry on with my jigsaw after lunch, I'm about 2/3rds done. Now off for a much needed coffee.
AA have a good holiday.
YorksLass sadly the fairy flitted past my house. Enjoy your new MW.
TA have a good haircut day.
taff you have your work cut out deciding which tools to keep, at least Mr Fix It always does and everything always goes back 😏
Have a good day all, hugs to anyone in need.

@Suffolksue - What are you planning to do in Weston super Mare? Is the Peggy Nesbit doll museum and store still there in Weston? I always wanted to go to see "all the little people" who used to drive me crazy at my aunt's house as she collected them. Thought they were watching me when I sent the night there.3
