B&B e-Bond

If you have a B&B account and you wish to apply for the e-Bond, do you need to go through all the hassle of sending them documentation and a signed application form?

I think there was a post the other day that said they had to ask for money laundering checks for an existing customer so I would guess yes on that basis.

  • I remember seeing that, but was that not for people who opened accounts years ago, I only opened mine a few months ago.

No, you don;t need any extra docs, but you'll have to move your eSaver cash back to your linked account then send them a cheque for the "e"Bond... more like a bleedin postal account!

Rumour is the "e"/postal bond is being withdrawn on the 5th so you might struggle to fund it - could be that account opening stops on the 5th, but you have up to 14 days to get your cheque in (waste of time asking CS - I queried funding 3 weeks ago and received 3 conflicting emails around a week ago). Not sure yet whether they're just not organised or absolute carp... Hope your mileage varies as they say...
