Trading 212 interest rate issue

  • Hello,

I switched my ISA to trading 212 when it was offering like 5.17%. A month after mine dropped to 4.9%.

it is now offering similar 5%ish but appears to be for new customers, i assume i cannot get onto the higher rate now?

It kind of sucks because i joined their existing deal late then as soon as BOE dropped rates they dropped the ISA rate but now upped it again, i feel like maybe i didn't read the T&Cs or maybe i can still get the higher rate by asking?
You may be able to approach 212 and  ask to be put on the better rate, check their app or email them.   ( Got this from a article I found)

Unless you’ve got a significant amount saved, it’s approx £20 difference for each £10k you have saved?

Cash ISA rate reducing to 4.5% 1 March !!!!!
That's a lot more of reduction than the 0.25% BoE cut.
The Stocks and Shares ISA is reducing to 4.6 too.
Time to move into money market funds directly
  • As I need the money in 6 months this is my first time in the easy access products rather than fixed rates.

It's mildly annoying that no sooner have you transferred to the introductory rate that you then face a reduction, yet new customers get the shiny higher rate. That's how it is though and the easy access element suits me at this time.

Now that the BOE rate is 4.5%, money market funds will give you an even lower return.
