Hi everyone, Esben is full of beans this morning, I wished I bounced back so quickly. He told L & B that he had been the bravest he had ever been yesterday. Esther was very good for us as well, we took Ziggy out and she walked (ran rather) a mile with ease, she wanted to turn round and go the other way. So far this morning she has been a puppy and a dinosaur, life is never dull. I feel that I am on the mend at last so hopefully I'll be able to get on with things a bit better. I made a lovely meal last night even though I say so myself, it was a duck red thai curry with broccoli in peanut sauce. Today I'm slow cooking a shoulder of pork to have as a roast with hopefully enough left to make a pork, broccoli and taleggio lasagne for later in the week. I also want to make a batch of granola and some banana bread. We'll see how much I actually accomplish with the children around. dp1, I hope little one picks up soon. I hope the weather improves for those of you in gloomy places, we have sunshine which always lifts the spirits at this time of year. Have a good day.11

Morning all
It seems to be a lovely bright day which is so nice to see it lifts the spirits somewhat.
I have stripped the beds this morning and got them on a hot wash they can go out on the line for a bit of a blow I love Sundays and getting into fresh bedding.
For those of you who have a Homebase near you it’s worth a look, I went earlier in the week and got a few bits but went back yesterday to get some Denby dinner sets, I had seen they were £208 reduced to £60 so I grabbed two of them they are such good quality our last set was still going after 10 years, I gave the old ones away on a free FB page and the woman was thrilled, they had a rotary washing line in there which I might go back for as ours is on its last legs.
Dinner today will be a mini roast with pork chops roasties and veg I will make some nice gravy with the meat juices too.
Dogs to be walked later and some housework to get us ready for the week.
Snoozer I’m so pleased that Esben is ok and bounced back so quickly xx
Have good days all and take care xx11 -
Morning all, I didn't have a good sleep last night so I'm like a wet rag and not much will be "occurring" here. I found some sliced beef in my fridge/freezer sort out yesterday so we'll have that today with roasties, veg and gravy.
Gers I'm also watching the Traitors US, what a backstabbing bunch of people ! No team players at all.
Suffolksue enjoy your time away.
Snoozer I'm glad Esben is up and bouncing around, children are so resilient.
dp1 good news about little one, hope she's back to full strength soon.
Enjoy your Sunday everyone
Take care all
nan xx

Morning all. The sun is shining, there's no wind and it feels a bit milder so I'll be off out for another walk soon. Nowhere in particular, just a walk for a change of scenery, but I'll have to change the route though or it will become a bit boring.
Yesterday I prepped the kitchen worktop ready for the arrival of the new MW later today and washed down some paintwork too. Does anyone else find that starting a small job can unintentionally lead to a bigger job? I've finished sewing up the jumper I'd knitted so that's some more of the yarn stashed used up and another winter wooly to wear. I've certainly been glad of those this year!
I tidied up the freezer contents while I had my first cuppa this morning; like others, I'm thinking it doesn't seem to be going down much even though I know I'm using stuff up. I've made a shopping list for this week's SM delivery (nothing for the freezer) but will review that before it's placed. Tea tonight is cooked gammon slices from the freezer with swede/carrot and mash, already prepped. The only other job today is some baking - the cake tin is empty and I do like "something" with my afternoon coffee.
@mehefin - Couldn't agree more about shaking things up a bit to break the monotony. The dog walking sounds ideal as it gets you out and about with free exercise into the bargain.
Pleased to hear Esben and LO are on the mend, they seem to be coping well.
Right, I'm off for my walk so I'll wish everyone a pleasant day. Take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.10 -

Afternoon all, brightening up here now. DH and I have been for a little walk. He took his stick as he is not back to full mobility yet with his new hip, more the muscles than the actual joint. Just had a cooked brunch.Usual Saturday boys football yesterday, they were away on a muddy pitch, glad I'm not the one washing DGS kit
. Their home pitch is 4G so we're not used to that much mud.
It's become part of our social life too as all the parents and GParents get on great.
