    Hi,
im really sorry for your loss, it’s hard to cope with that in itself and everything that comes with it.
we have recently inherited some money too, my poor hubby lost both his parents within 6 weeks.
its been gruelling emotionally and physically so I get it.
Ive always suffered from depression so feel for you as you would think getting a large windfall would make everything better, but it leads to its own problems.
I think paying off mortgage is a huge psychological boost. We paid off our last one  a few years ago and i have to say it felt amazing!
we are very blessed to be able to pay this one off with inheritance this time and do feel so lucky. However I’m not sure whether to wait 2 years until end of fix or just pay redemption, still debating that one.

Have you a fixed rate? When does it end?
    what is your mortgage rate?

i personally would still pay it to get rid of cash  and Follow advice about updating house, newer car etc, anything that will save you money.
i bought solar, it’s the best investment I made.
then I’d find a private therapist and do some work, treat yourself to self care.
CBT is also good to try and break negative self thoughts you have.
your parents would want this to be a blessing, not a curse.
Later you might feel you can work. Find something you love, I’d like to work in a little coffee shop 😊
whatever helps your mental health 😊
