The only time I've thought trustpilot was reliable was when I looked up the company that had taken over our doctors surgery.
It rates one star in both the US and UK.
    Two countries can't be wrong.
    Diabolical and frightening

Which? Is more problematic that Trust pilot. Very high salaries and bonuses plus multiple data leaks.

What have very high salaries and bonuses got to do with the integrity of reviews?

Why would you trust TrustPilot?  Or any other on-line reviews which are controlled entirely by the web site operator.

I look at Trustpilot quite a lot, especially if I am using a new firm.  I’ve never had a problem with them.
I’ve avoided some Chinese online firms which had dreadful reviews.

One year we were on holiday in Yorkshire and were looking for a tea shop.  I found one on Trustpilot with 5* reviews.  We went there and it was amazing.  Lovely food and large portions, we took some back to our holiday cottage.

I’ve posted reviews on there myself, especially if the product/service has been particularly good or bad.  I’ve read that they remove reviews but I’ve checked my reviews a while after I’ve posted them and they have always been there still
