Hello,
Just tidying up paperwork for an estate that I have just finished, which had a LOT (40 years worth) of paperwork. At the time I kept most of it because it helped track down any banks, stock, etc. I have got rid of most of it till about 2017 ish but thinking I properly can rid of most of it apart from 2 years before he died.
The paperwork I am talking about is nothing to do with the administration (20 year rules on that) and only about the paperwork that the deceased filed at the time/or created, bank statements, banks, bonds, stocks, etc.
What are the rules on this?

Keep whatever is relevant to your duties as executor of the deceased's estate. Should any queries arise.0

Apart from family, beneficiaries, potential creditors, DWP and HMRC, is anybody else ever going to ask to see old paperwork? And if all those have been properly dealt with?0
