EDF Energy monitor with solar panels

I have a smart meter and a shade greener solar panels. I am wanting to change energy suppliers possibly to EDF.

Does the energy monitor from EDF show when you are using solar energy. I am currently with Scottish power and it shows a pylon.

I am wanting something similar so I know when to use free energy.

By "energy monitor" do you mean the in-home display that was provided with your smart meter? Or something else?
If you switch to EDF (or any other supplier) they aren't going to supply you with a new device. Your current one is likely to continue to work.

Thanks for your reply. Yes it is the home display. I am wondering if it will still display the pylon if I move to EDF.

I also have solar panels with A Shade Greener and I'm with EDF (the IHD was originally from Scottish Power but I've also been with EON Next too) and I can confirm that the IHD still shows the Pylon when you are exporting power back to the grid.  A Shade Greener also has a web-portal showing what you've exported but its very basic.
FYI my IHD is the same as yours.

    Interesting!
Do the "with pylon" people have metered export and an export MPAN? Or is it just two different versions of the same IHD?
My parents have metered export and a Geo Trio IHD (not the model in this thread) and their IHD shows export. I have deemed export, a Geo Trio and it doesn't show export.

So the Pylon only shows on ours when we are exporting excess power to the grid.  As far as I can tell we only have a single MPAN.
If it helps our IHD is badged as Scottish Power but it is a

This is the make. It was from Scottish Power. The electricity meter outside also has import and export on it. The person that set it all up when I had the smart meter fitted was really good.

My IHD looks like that, but I can't be sure ref EDF, as that was my first supplier at this property, and I didn't understand the IHD back then.

It has shown that same pylon screen with British Gas, First Utility, Co-op Energy, Green Network Energy, Eon, and now Octopus.

I have my generation / FIT with EDF, and just switched export from deemed with EDF, to metered with Octopus.

So I think the pylon screen is specific to the IHD, rather than the supplier.

If you switch to the standard variable rate with EDF, you can always switch elsewhere if it doesn't show the pylon screen*

    * I look at it many times a day, so find it invaluable. Should you fancy Octopus, they do a little gadget called an "Octopus mini" (errr... I think...brain failure), that you sign up for for free, that also gives that live usage on your phone/tablet.

Additional comment to say mine is a different CA number, and has 2019 on it, so maybe I didn't have this back when I was with EDF.

Best to ignore my list of supplies above, as I'm not 100% sure now. Oops soz.

But I've definitely had the pylon screen/info when I've been with British Gas and Octopus.
