Morning everyone
The sun got out yesterday afternoon here and it was warm enough to just have jumpers on when we took the children out to play, a big improvement from the very frosty start.
I need to go down to mam and dads this morning to do their banking then I'll get the bus down to work.
Little one was started on her new feeding regime yesterday and DD said she did have a bit more energy in the afternoon, she's hopeful they'll get home today. Little one had been happy yesterday because she went onto her favourite ward for a bath...in the bath they helped raise money for.
I hope everyone has a good day today x
Enjoy your trip to London Camelot15 -
Morning all, another sunny morning and a little warmer, but not by much.
Yesterday we did go for our walk and visited a local heritage site and marina which we hadn't been to for a while. It had a lovely forest walk which opened up onto the Mon and Brecon canal and we walked the towpath where I met an old school friend who stopped to chat. I took ham rolls and a flask of coffee for lunch so we only spent £2 for parking and didn't even have a coffee in the cafe, very MSE.
Today I have already stripped the bed and put the bedding in the wm but I don't think it would dry outside, so indoors it will have to be. I'll make the bed later and then I have a few more chores lined up, including cleaning our footwear from yesterday as the path was muddy in places. I shall make a bolognese sauce in the slow cooker for tea as I left some mince beef out of the freezer last night by mistake, ooops.
TA I too am a fair weather gardener, my excuse at the moment is that the green waste recycling collection doesn't start till march so there's no point in filling the bins yet !
Snoozer love to Esben today, hope the op is a success.
Camelot enjoy London, have a great time.
RedRuby you do wonder what would happen to poor Rob if you weren't looking after his welfare. His sister obviously doesn't want to be bothered by it all.
Right the wm has finished so I'll have a coffee and get started.
Take care all, hugs to anyone in need.

Morning! I was up late and I'm almost awake now. I did some hours down the allotment yesterday, it was sunny and cold but today is raining so I had to squeeze it in. And all my big talk of buying nothing form the GC came to nothing after I splashed out on another raised bed [ twenty quid off though, does that count?] and some plants from the cheap shelf for me and my sister. Planning on fitting shelves under the stairs today, OH is off so will no doubt be playing COD all day
I discovered OHs mums secret for cottage pie which is oxo, something I never buy because of the taste because it overpwers everything, but now am going to get some asap! And I might even make some for tonight...all the stuff is in the freezers or here..
snoozer, fingers crossed it all goes swimmingly for Esben and you all. camelot, enjoy the day off! One in 25 years isnt badCoxy, your garden sounds huge, maybe you should join the open day for gardens with you locally. Izzy, I laughed at your secret inside pocketses
nanny, shame about the puzzle but your walk sounds lovely! dp1, good news about the lo too. mehefin, that's why it's better to find new homes for stuff before it's too late. Wish my parents had...Rosy, good news for your sil then! Ruby, his sister sounds a bit of a farmyard animal....moo. Lucky he has you! Right, off to do, take care all, poodles, you too....

Morning all. After two lovely sunny but cold days we're back to cloudy and damp. A bit meh but at least no rain on the horizon for a while.
I did my weekly trip to the Co-op yesterday; by golly it was cold out and I was glad to get home. Small spend of just over £4 including a punnet of YS mushrooms and my treat of a bag of fruit pastilles. I really need some fresh F&V but their offerings weren't appealing at all so, other than buying a couple of bananas, I'll use frozen and tinned for now until I get a SM delivery. One book returned to the LFL and none borrowed - I have more than enough to be getting on with!
Last day of the week (and month) so today it's Friday admin, banking etc. The green recycling bins still haven't been emptied so that needs reporting.
The postman has delivered a large envelope containing DH's integrated health care records that I'd sent back to the Health Care team - they've been all round the houses and it seems no-one wants them so they've been returned to me. Well, I don't want or need them either so I'll drop them in at the GP surgery next time I'm passing. If I don't get any joy there I'll just shred them.
My energy provider is obviously on another drive to get customers to have a smart meter fitted since I'm being bombarded with emails and texts to make an appointment. This is despite me telling them more than once it isn't physically possible for one to be fitted in this property and amending my account to say I don't want communications about smart meters. Sigh - does no-one listen?
To top it all off, my microwave has given up the ghost. It is old - maybe 14 years and it was a freebie with a freezer - so it doesn't owe me anything but I need a replacement. Just a basic model, it doesn't have to have bells and whistles.
I think all the above will keep me out of mischief today! Tea tonight will be a couple of h/m salmon fishcakes with side salad, fruit & jelly for afters.
Best wishes for Esben and LO and their parents/grandparents, patience and peace for those going through trying times, hugs where needed or wanted. Take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.12 -
Well yesterday was sunny and blue skies all day and 9*!I poked around in the garden for a while and got a text from my gardener saying she’d be here at 9am
today is pouring and freezing ,she’s been we’ve walked around the boggy mess and made plans ,she’s put a big builders bag of jasmine prunings in the garden bin ( ours are collected fortnightly all year ,at £65 a year I should think so ! ) it’s just about stopped raining but much too wet to do anything ,
she’ll be back in a fortnight, when I hope the weather is better .
so housework and sorting it is then ,also packing for my mini break .
hope the poorly GC are all recovering .
Stay dry everyone11 -
Morning all
Its been raining most of the night but stopped for now and the sun is trying to come out, I had a very disturbed night so got up late this morning, I think the extra hours with Rob are having an effect on me so a lazy day today.
The meeting with the home for respite went well but it’s not that place for Rob he is such a gentle soul and it’s a home for people with LD and mental health issues including violence, the chap in the room next door to him would get violent if his sleep is disturbed and would hit and punch Rob if he made any noise, he makes noises all the time like a shout but as he can’t hear himself he doesn’t know how loud he is, I have emailed the sw my concerns but who knows if they will listen.
I need to get the dogs out this morning and then have a quick tidy through this afternoon I shall have a long bath and then a rest on the sofa.
Dinner tonight will be Kiev chips and peas nice and easy.
Snoozer good luck for Esben tomorrow xx
DP1 hope little one continues to improve xx
Have good days all and take care xx12 -

Hi all,
I had a day trip to London today (first time from our new house) and met an ex-colleague for lunch. Made the most of a semi-decent day and the £24 train fare by mooching around Victoria, lunch, walked through St James Park up to Piccadilly, Fortnums, Hatchards, then on to bottom of Regent Street for a look in Zara and Uni Qlo. Then walked back to Victoria via Burlington Arcade (diamonds!!!!) and Green Park. It wasn't all that busy and it was great to see my chum plus stretch my legs around old haunts/the sights. I love London
DH has done the Friday tidy whilst I was out, plus dropped garden waste at the tip and sorted an M&S return for me
Yes we have a large garden now - 3/4 acre eeeek! More tidying planned for tomorrow
Have a good evening all
Coxy
