All sweet smelling and full of coffee! Showering in the mornings isn't my favourite thing to do but I CBA'd last night.Yesterday morning I drove up to the big town for shoe laces. The laces on my winter walking shoes began to fray - they are at least 12 years old - in the last two weeks I've bought two sets from the big river place which were both rubbish. The last set I even rejected and got a refund. The aglets were all very roughly finished and two of them were too big to go through the first hole, differently sized to its mate. So, up the Timpsons I went, got the almost perfect pair and happy again. This time they only had a size bigger than I wanted so I've double laced up two holes to take up the excess. In the afternoon the postie brought me the replacement garment from SeaSalt - not really a replacement as they don't do swaps so a new order with the returned one refunded very promptly. New debit card arrived too so a good delivery.Today is haircut and colour morning. I've booked an earlier time - 10a.m. - so have to leave about 8.15a.m. I hope to see a lovely sunrise on the way down. I'll put a white wash on before I go, a long slow one.@Snoozer - I hope that all goes well with Esben today and that he recovers quickly. Hugs to all our poorlies and those who are sad. xx16

Good morning, thanks for starting Gers.
It seems to be an ok morning as far as I can tell. Yesterday was nice, cold though. We finally got out in the garden, just tidied it really, pulled a few weeds out, and swept up a bit.
Ruby, Rob's sister doesn't seem very caring, running around! She should be thanking you for all you've done.
Sorry to hear about the jigsaw disaster Nanny!
Dp1, I once dumped shopping on the kitchen floor and dashed upstairs to the bathroom, came down to find the cat tack!ing a pack of sausages.
Sounds like you have a big garden Coxy.
I was going to say something to Rosy, but I've forgotten what it was, sorry Rosy.
Hope everyone has as good a day as they can, thoughts to our poorlies, good luck to Esben for his op and hoping Dp1's dg d soon feels better.
Take care folks.

Morning All
I'm at work, an early start as I travelled by bus (which was freezing!) as I'm leaving at lunchtime to get the train to London for the weekend, off work on Monday as I've worked for the local authority for 25 years and they give you a day off - not per year you understand, just one day!
Oops Nanny, hope you found all the pieces.
Happy haircut Gers, enjoy the sunrise.
Hope Esben's op goes well Snoozer.
Well done on the gardening Scarlet and Coxy - I really should go and tidy up but it's getting dark by the time I get home and seem to be busy at weekends.
Really Ruby - running around? Good job you're there to look out for Rob.
DS2 has his flat up for sale in the NL, 60 viewers over 2 days. One couldn't make the viewing but offered 10 thousand over the asking price anyway, it's mad! Closing date is next Wednesday so will be interesting to see what happens.
Happy Friday and have a good weekend. Take care. XX15 -
Thanks for the start Gers - that’ll be a lovely sunrise drive!Yesterday was cold and bright and we had a lovely hour by the river which wasn’t too muddy. Helped DDad with some drilling to rehang the hose reel holder ready for Spring - wishful thinking. Sat outside and did some sanding - a bit achey cos it was cold but nice to have some sun.Just sat and made a massive list of things to be done - I won’t get them all done but might get close!
Hope everyone has a good day and all the poorlies feel better soon

Morning folks and thanks GERS. Happy haircut day and safe drive. It looks a bit drab and dismal outside but no rain forecast. Sadly no sun either and no warmer! You hardy souls doing the gardening have put me to shame. I'm a warm weather gardener so mine will stay as it is for a while yet!
I had a profitable day at the retail outlet with SIL yesterday. The purse did come out after all but my spending was only done on bargains in the Homes**se clearance sale. Nothing for myself but quite a few things put away for gifts throughout the year. We then had a bit of a trail round before ending up in Cos*a for a welcome coffee and toastie.
Grounded today with the Friday Tidy on the agenda then this afternoon the end of month banking to do. Finally January is coming to an end so fingers crossed February will bring better weather for us all.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. RUBY I can't believe poor Rob's sister's attitude! She takes the biscuit. I hope Esben and the Little One perk up after their respective treatment. Take care all, stay safe xx

Morning
A wet start but should be a dry but cloudy day. Yesterday was sunny on and off but cold, I didn't seem to warm up all day.
I decided to do the monthly stock up yesterday. I like to get the essentials, loo roll, washing pods and dog food etc. It's a habit I got into when the kids were small, so if the money ran out before the end of the month we could cope. Not so now but old habits die hard.
Probably fish and chips from the freezer tonight.
Ruby , poor Rob, he has such a caring sister! How dare she say she's fed up of running around, it's a good job your there for him.
Hope everyone has a good day, hugs to all who need them. Take care14 -
Morning everyone just a quick one from me I’m off out to do my volunteering at the food waste but just wanted to say snoozer I’m keeping everything crossed for Esben today and I hope he recovers quickly thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing14

Morning all, thanks Gers. Seems a decent morning after a rain filled night. Pooch hates the noise of the rain on the glass & had a very unsettled night
so I'm feeling less than 100%.
@ScarletRibbons , haha not to worry- there's always someone I mean to say something to and then it goes right out of my headWow @camelot1001 , that's a lot of viewers for DS! Enjoy your trip to London ( and your 1 day off)
No real plans for today. I haven't had an online order this week so could perhaps do with getting a few things.Bye for now, I'll have a catch up later x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)14 -
Morning all from a sunny Mehefinland
Must have pelted down overnight as everything is very wet and soggy. The puddles in the field which had almost dried out are bag in all their glory.
Must be National Haircut Day as I'm off to be scalped too! All done on-line ( payment included) at 7.15 this morning. Just have to remember to go now!!
A neighbour passed last May and his wife who is in a care home locally is finally reconciled to the fact that she is not coming back to the house, so it can go. Cue family having a house clearout - which they have offered anything to anyone who wants it. It was quite sad passing by yesterday to see a large group of people turning over a person's life. The family are quite upbeat about it and they are just glad to see things going. I will admit to having a 'little' womble myself and came away with some brand new t towels and a flan tin. I was talking to the daughter (who was in school with Dawn!) and granddaughter for a while - apparently Mum is going to live with them after their house has had an extension put on, but all the stuff going had no future there. Made me think of all the good stuff which was just dumped when my parents and Dawn's Mum passed as nobody wanted it. Such is a sign of the times that the place was busy yesterday.
Hugs and spoons as always, and get well soon poodles.

Morning all. Finally got on here after a busy couple of days.
It's dreary out there today. We had arranged to go walking with friends today but they had forgotten they are doing childcare so we've changed it to lunch at their house, which is only walking distance down the road. Looking at the weather I'm glad we won't be out walking.
On Wednesday all our electricity went early evening and we traced it to the main oven packing up, possibly an element problem. Luckily the chap who does local electricals can come and see it this morning so fingers crossed it's a straightforward fix. I had made a lemon drizzle cake the previous day so we still have that and can manage without the oven for a few days.
We've also done a bit of gardening and cut back all the rose hedging in the side border at the front. It was very prickly and even got through my gardening gloves at one point. It was here when we bought the house almost 40 years ago and is very low maintenance; just needs an annual chop
I hope today goes well for everyone, especially the youngsters with operations and health problems.
