I think I'm finally being persuaded to switch to First Direct. The wife and I have a joint account and I have a single account with Santander.
If I switch only the single account, will I still get the full rewards of the switch?

It's better to do single switches rather than joint switches. If both you and your wife do a single switch each, then you each get the bonus (ie. 2x £175). If instead you do a joint switch then you only get one incentive between the two of you (ie. 1x £175).If you're really set on a joint FD account, then you should still both do a single switch, but after you have both been paid the bonus then you can then turn one of them into a joint account and close the other.1

Good shout on this. OP just remember you will need to remember to use a different TCB account for each FD account you open

Am I glad I posted my original question - thank you so much.
I haven't switched in 10 years, so forgive my ignorance - do I go directly to FD from the TCB link, i.e no middle-man?

It can take a few months to appear in your account sometimes1
