Credit card and PayPal

I've just ordered some varifocals from on credit card from glassesdirect.co.uk. The total is big because I've ordered 3 pairs with the intention of returning 1 or 2. They say that PayPal handles credit/debit card sales.
Now glassesdirect has asked me for 2 pieces of ID to prove I am the credit card holder. This seems odd, I would think it was only up to my credit card to make sure I was going to pay. But I probably haven't spent so much all at once in a few years - so is this normal?

Guess they get some fraud & do not want to lose the money.Life in the slow lane0 -
If the glasses are being made to your prescription it's unlikely you can return them unless they are faulty because they are personalised4

I've used Glasses Direct several times and never needed to use PayPal.
I'd suggest using their free trial service first to view the frames rather than getting something made to our prescription and then needing to return. Although they allow the returns, it would be better to trial and not need to spend the money.marcia_ said:If the glasses are being made to your prescription it's unlikely you can return them unless they are faulty because they are personalised1 -

Is your name on the order exactly the same as the name on credit card?1
