First Direct/topcashback offer

I just received a email from TCB about opening a First direct account.

Does anyone know if i apply for a account through TCB will that qualify for the £45?

I dont currently have and First direct accounts, but did have a current account a few years ago.

I understand i wont qualify for the £175 switching offer

I don't see anything saying that you don't qualify for £45, although "Cashback can only be claimed on the first account opened or first Switched Account. Additional accounts are not eligible for Cashback" is a little bit vague.

My interpretation would be that only the first account opened through TCB will be eligible for cashback. Accounts opened outside of TCB won't be counted and if you open multiple accounts through TCB then only the first gets counted for cashback.

The switch offer is seperate from the TCB offer and is operated by FD. Personally if you're opening a FD account for the cashback then you might as well do everything for the switch offer as well. You probably won't get the incentive based on what you say, but there's a small possibility you might slip through the cracks and get paid anyway
