Thanks @elsiepac for the February thread
Please put me down for £200
this month although I know I will have to increase for next month as we are away for a few days self catering and spending money in restaurants 😊
Anyway, I already have a declaration for Feb.
Went to Lidl’s last week as I wanted to take advantage of the offers on my ap.
Frozen beans were £1, also bought other frozen veg and fruit for our breakfast’s.
Frozen fish for pies or just plain with lemon and butter.
Long life milk for when I make either custard or cheese sauce so I don’t have to dip into the fresh.
I got a free shampoo c/o the ap and free potatoes. Also another bag of free potatoes from DH’s ap 😊
The rest was spent on tinned tomatoes, baked beans, plain and s.r flour and bread flour.
I nearly collapsed when I saw that olive oil was now over £7 and that was not the extra virgin, so I have bought a mix of sunflower and olive oil and I will see what it’s like. That was still £3
Had to buy some mango chutney in case I make a curry ( just can’t do without it)
Tuna, cheese, milk, yoghurt and mustard completed the Lidl spend, until I had paid.
On my way out of the door there was £1.50 box so had to have it, so heavy.
Having already bought a bag of carrots 🥕 I then had another 3, nectarines, broccoli x2 and 3 nets of oranges.
So far everything is still alive.
Apart from general use of these carrots (we had about 60) I have made a vat of carrot and coriander soup and carrot cake.
Both of which half are in the freezer.
Decided against my visit to Farm Foods with the voucher’s as need the freezer space for the carrots.
All in all I have spent £108.57/£200
Need to make this last, only need egg and milk top ups I think for most of the month
Have a good rest of the day folks

Thank you @elsiepac for doing this thread. Hope you are okay as like others was worried about your absence.
Our February starts on the 1st.
Our February budget is going to be £224. So if you can change it to that on the list that would be amazing.
The month goes 1st to the 28thThis is for two adults; my OH and I. Includes all food and drink (except alcohol, that has a different budget), cleaning products, toiletries etc. More than I'd like the budget to be, however both OH and I think for now it is better to leave the budget as it is (£8/day) and see over a few months more yet before we reduce it if we can.January isn't finished quite yet but it looks like we should be in budget, just.Hoping that we stay within budget for February.£0/£224.£224 left.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy7 -
Hi Elsiepac
Can I have my total lowered to £300 please.
January was an experiment now we are 3 adults. We’re currently living with DS2 and he’s happy to let me do the menu.
We are all eating healthily and keeping costs down with frozen vegetables as much as possible. None of us are really fruit eaters so that helps keep costs down too and portion control means no leftovers or waste.
So I’m hoping to go no where near £300 but if I see any good offers it’s always handy to have a little wiggle room.
Good luck

So glad that you are OK @ elsiepac. No need to apologize we have been having a very productive chat about money saving meals
my budget for Feb is £300 .
Daughter is having large house extension done and they are having the stairs totally ripped out and a new set put in over half term. DH and the 3 boys will be staying here whilst that happens which is why budget is so high. I really hope to come in under budget but never quite seem to manage. Any way because of above I rearranged the meal plans at the end of Jan so that I could keep beefburgers and sausages that weren't used over Christmas for 2 of the main meals. I also have frozen bread rolls so apart from veg that's 2 meals already accounted for.i will do a stock take nearer the time to see what else I can rummage for in freezer!!

I think I'm content to leave mine at
£500
please, @elsiepac! It's a 4-week month & I'm likely just feeding 4 adults for most of it. I'm slightly tempted to drop it a bit, as some of what I thought I'd be spending in February actually happened in January & caused me to slip over, but suspect something (there's always something!) would cause me to get derailed, so if there's any left over I'll switch it into the bulk-buy fund; we'll be needing a sack of oats shortly!

Hi
Could you put me down for £500 this month. .
This is to feed 2 adults, 2 teen boys and a tween boy, all food, drinks, cleaning and toiletries. The boys have lunch at school which isn't included. I will include my lunches this month as I usually buy lunch at the school canteen but will try and take more lunches from home this coming month. Obviously we'll have half term this month so will need more supplies as they always eat more when they are at home. We also have our 12 weekly toilet roll delivery this month.
I have a good store cupboard supply and the freezer is quite full. We also have a good supply of snacks so I'm hopeful I can come in on budget.Grocery Challenge 2024

Count me in, please, @elsiepac. Thank you for running this thread.
Please put me down for £160.
That’s for all supermarket spends for two adults, including cleaning products and toiletries. Our month runs from 1st February to 28th.
Thanks again, Elsiepac.

150/650 pm As i go from 23rd til 23rd I have spent 150 already but only 3 weeks to go so on target. So relieved @elsiepac is here as I know I would let things slip if I did not have to declare spends. I have been on this for over 2 years and learnt so much from you all.21k savings no debt8
