Chasing old ticket

Hi all,

My son collected a ticket in 2019 which he appealed, asking for the contract etc, and never heard a thing.

Fast forward to today and a toothless debt agency is now chasing.

There is approx 7 weeks until this ticket is 6 years old, am I right in thinking we play the game, ignore and hope they don't file with a court within that time?

I've since had a second letter from ZZPS telling me it's being handed to a solicitor to go to court.

I've found my printout from their website when I made my original challenge, the one I never heard anything from until ZZPS started a few weeks ago.

If it only has 7 weeks before it times out don’t just simply ignore as they may raise a claim before the deadline. Instead respond and ask them a question. When they respond perhaps ask them another. When you get to 30 days from the deadline send them the response in the Newbies telling them to put it on hold for 30 days whilst you (or more correctly your son) seeks debt advice. They must put it on hold before raising a claim and then it is game over.

Have you moved home since the PCN was issued? If not, await a letter of/before claim then send the standard, "I deny the debt but am seeking debt advice therefore you are required to put the case on hold for 30 days as per court pre-action protocol" instruction around day 25 from the LoC/LBC issue date.

If you have moved, then you need send a rectification notice to the DPO of NPE, instructing them to erase your old data and replace it with your current address for service. Make sure you use the word I have highlighted as it has a specific meaning with regards to data processing.

This will be easy to get over the 6 year line!

I believe my family member has now achieved the 6 year limit, the "offence" was on 14 Mar 2019.

Today another letter arrived, I was hoping it was the claim, but no, it's another Notice of Transfer to Solicitors. This has been ignored. :)
