Morning everyone
Cold and frosty here this morning.
All my bags were picked up yesterday for the charity shop, luckily he had a big car. I got some jobs done in the afternoon and then went across the road to my friends for a cuppa and cake.
Little one saw her consultant yesterday - he wants her on her milk feed overnight, milk feeds through the day and her usual glycosade feeds several times a day. DD said she is still very tired and has no energy, but hopefully she will start to pick up now.
Thank you everyone for thinking of them both. When I called on Tuesday to bring her milk in she had two big airers full of clothes drying, so I'll go down to work a bit earlier this morning and fold the clothes up for her.
Hope your Esben is ok when he goes in Snoozer.
Right best get on, I have a Tesco delivery coming between 9 and 10, I'm hoping it's nearer to 9. If not I'll just have to put the fridge and freezer stuff away and put the rest in the downstairs loo so the cats can't get it.
Oh talking of cats, does anyone have any tips on stopping cats pooing on the grass - it's my own little cat. All the others have gone over the fence into the overgrown field, she mustn't have got the memo! Little one plays on there in the summer so I'd like to stop the habit.
Hope everyone has a good day x17 -
Hello all, blimey it's freezing here but the sun is out so I really shouldn't complain, I do enough of that about you know who.
I started my jigsaw yesterday and after opening the box and emptying the plastic bag into it, I proceeded to drop all the pieces on the floor !! I'm hoping I've picked them all up although I did find one that had somehow travelled into the as far as the kitchen door.
Today we're hoping to go out for a walk but will wait a bit to see if it warms up a tad. All our cameras are at the ready and have full batteries and we're hoping take those, something we haven't done for over a year but we must get back into it as our photographic stuff cost rather too much to go unused. I must find my snood before I go, I already have my scarf and gloves at the ready.
Snoozer I hope Esben's op goes very well on Friday. It will be very sad if the family have to move far away. Hope they decide soon for your peace of mind.
dp1 hope little one gets her strength back asap.
Take care all, hugs to the poorly ones. Wrap up warm if you have to go out, Michelin men of the world unite !

Morning all. Last night's sunset was accompanied by red clouds - very picturesque - that told me it was going to be cold overnight and I wasn't wrong. It's frosty this morning but once again beautiful blue skies.
After doing what needed to be done yesterday morning, I had a walk to the CS with a bag of donations. There are 5 within a few hundred yards and I had a browse around all of them, barring one that doesn't open on Wednesdays. I have a couple of things on my mental wish list but didn't see anything that would fit the bill nor was I tempted by anything else so no cash spent. It was quite chilly despite being sunny but it was good to get out and spot signs of Spring such as snowdrops. I'll be out again today for my weekly Co-op shop.
This morning I've had a visit from the council about the ongoing water ingress; Stan had a look around the external walls and window seals and couldn't find anything amiss so the next step is for the internal soil stack void to be inspected from inside the property - it seems likely the stack has failed due to old age. Which is what I've been saying all along. No idea when this will be so watch this space.
Our communal recycling bins weren't emptied yesterday so maybe today. Thursday is our official day but usually they get done on Wednesdays along with the surrounding houses. If they're not done today I'll have to get in touch with the council as it's now at least 8 weeks since the recycling bins were done. It's no wonder the general waste bins are always overflowing. Or that recycling is so poor. Rant over.
Tea tonight is Cornish pasty (well, half because it's a big one), mash, swede and carrots. I've spent very little this month on food thanks to using what I already have and will be continuing to do so in February. I do need fresh F&V and milk though.
Have a good day all and enjoy the sunshine if you have it, but you may need to wrap up well if you're going out. Hugs as usual where needed or wanted. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.13 -
Afternoon all and thanks for the start @Gers
I have been making the most of the glorious weather by tidying up the front garden beds. We have a large front garden and there are 7 island beds with various trees and shrubs. There was a lot of leaf fall - I don't mind some leaves but when they are in danger of rotting the perennials it's a bit much. Also uncovered lots of bulbs we didn't know we hadMet one of our neighbours who has been away since we moved in, and also chatted with another who we've met before. Now showered and aiming for some housework this afternoon.
Rob's sister takes the biscuit @RedRuby1231 - running around indeed!!
Enjoy the walk @silver-oldie x
I hope Esben gets on okay at his pre-op @snoozer x
Dinner tonight is pork bolognaise which I'm looking forward to mmmmm.
Have a good day all

Evening all, really late one from me. I accompanied DH to a supplier in the next little town , where DB1 lives and thought we'd call but they werent in so went a bit further to DB2s to take a card to SiL. She had surgery yesterday to remove a plate from her arm that was put in abroad after a fall.12 months later it looked all wrong and was painful. She says it already feels better so that's good. We had a coffee and a chat and a cuddle with their colliedog, and by the time we got home it was afternoon, so a late lunch. I then rang a friend for a chat before going to get DGS.When we got back I reheated some beef I got from the freezer, turned out to be sliced roast beef not a stew as I'd thought - really must try harder with my labelling!Mehefin, how annoying, as if you don't have enough to doSnoozer hope all goes well with Esben on Sat, and dp1s LO builds her strength up soon.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'.
