your local Window Cleaner

We had a lad turn up last week in a “your local” van enquiring about window cleaning. Agreed to clean but received no bill, said it would be by message but only later realised we didn’t give him our phone number. Feeling it’s now a scam. Anyone aware of them? Don’t event have a business card but I do have some CCTV. Trust Pilot gives positive ratings. Appreciate any feedback.

If he is your local window cleaner and he did clean the windows he will call round for the cash on a certain day like he does his other customers
If he’s not and has seen something valuable keep your doors and windows securely locked
You could ask your neighbours if they know of him5 -
My window cleaner puts a note through my door with payment details to pay via bank transfer. It's a tiny bit of paper and not always through the flap, so take a peek inside your letter box if you haven't already2

Looking at their website and reviews, it sounds like they send bills by email each month.
But one person said it took 2 months before the first bill arrived. And they disagreed with the bill, when it finally arrived.
(The impression I get of the company from their website and reviews is that they are well meaning, but a bit chaotic. And some of their local window cleaners are great, but others might be less good and unreliable.)

What’s strange I’ve never even setup an account! Something is amiss.0

Could be that he is just rubbish with paperwork/admin.stattman said:What’s strange I’ve never even setup an account! Something is amiss.2 -
I think they are a scam. We experienced this company and found that they would just put a couple of squirts of water on the windows on one side of the house, then send an invoice by text message. When we tried to cancel they ignored our request (made by email, by phone, by text message), and actually came back again to give the windows another squirt immediately after we cancelled, then sent another invoice. We didn't pay, and contacted action fraud. Quite a large fraction of reviews for this company are extremely bad - much larger than the usual fraction of bad reviews that every company gets.0
