I am having a very busy week trying to catch up on the work backlog. I really need to get on top of it all by the end of the month so I can have the first week of March off without worrying about it. I plan to work Monday Tuesday Thursday evenings on the backlog. Wednesday evening yoga and relax, Friday evening Chinese meal out with friends and relax. Saturday and Sunday chores and one of the many Outstanding/Overdue Annoying Tasks. Either my business tax and closing it all down or sort shipping for the boxes in my living room. So either way it'll be a big brain draining task.

I've increased my pension contributions. I would really like to know what my next wages might look like so I can start planning. I want any spare cash to have a home waiting so I don't get tempted. Best I can do is an online calculator and a pen n paper.

I was going to make patatas bravas for dinner to use up homegrown tomato sauce from the freezer and a Christmas potato but I accidentally smashed my paprika so I had it with pasta shells instead. Very old pasta shells that also need using up.

    That would be amazing!

Hope it isn't too late of a night for you, sometimes it is frustrating as you feel you are putting in the extra hours but not seeing the benefit. Please be kind to yourself and make sure you rest too.

Why do you feel you've got behind? Is there anyone you can ask to help with anything?

Absolutely spend the weekend in bed if you want/need to

Doing 2 jobs Pip, the old one and the new one, until my replacement starts. And for the last few weeks I've been doing 2 jobs in 4 days as I've taken Fridays off to do a paid second job. It's meant I've crammed all my meetings and visits into those 4 days and my emails, notes, reports, and prep have had to be done in the evenings. Or not done when I've been too exhausted. And I've refused to do it on a weekend. Added to that I've had a new assistant start who's learning the ropes so needed me to do more and show her how to do things.

I feel much better today than I did yesterday, I had the best night's sleep I've had in weeks.

I started feeling a bit spendy today. Probably because I'm tired and want treats. I did buy a replacement mascara because mine is 18 months old 🫣 and a lip liner just because. And then I booked my car into the garage to get the brakes done before I spent the money I'd put aside.

    Disaster narrowly averted!!

I did not have the productive wfh day I had planned. It was very productive in terms of outcomes, but not productive in terms of the massive admin backlog I have.

New brakes cost me 50quid less than I was quoted, which is a relief as that was £90 more than I'd put aside 🤣

Bad news is the tortoise has hurt himself and there are no tortoise vets within about 40miles. He seems ok, just bleeding on his head, I think he's been climbing and somehow knocked a scale. I've cleaned him up, and a friend has some tortoise friendly antiseptic I can borrow, so I'll keep an eye on him, keep the wound clean, and decide next steps tomorrow.

I think I'm going to write off the rest of the work day and do a couple of hours on Sunday.
