Hi, I brought some penny shares in a company called Benson Group PlC in 1997. I have found out they changed their nameto Energy Technique.

How do I find out if these shares still exist and where I can sell them

Volution Group plc (LSE:FAN) bought Energy Technique plc for cash in 2015. Assuming you hadn't sold them beforehand you should have received a cheque or electronic deposit in compensation for your shares. If you have bank statements for sometime after November 2015 you could check them for the deposit. Otherwise you could try calling the share registrar - is there a name on the certificate? - and ask whether it's holding any money for you.

I'm no expert but looks like bought by Volution in 2015 and taken private in 2016. If there was any value in the company you would have received a payout in 2015.
