I have just booked a cruise for next feb 2026. I have also booked a holiday for this March and another holiday at the end of April . I usually take out yearly insurance but if I take it out now it won’t cover my cruise as it’s more than a year away . So am I better taking out a separate policy for the cruise in feb 2026 .. .? And doing a years policy now to cover holidays in the next year as in January 2025-jan 2026

With the holiday plans you have, I would cover those you can and then take insurance for the cruise as soon as you can get insurance to cover the whole cruise period.
