I have maximum+ interest ISA with Halifax that matured 2 weeks ago I sent a transfer on the 17 th January from 212 . Today I get a email from 212 saying the transfer has been cancelled due to my national insurance number not matching (ok) , so I ring Halifax to find out what national insurance they have to be told they have not got my national insurance number? They then ask me for my number at this rate I'm going to lose 1 mths interest

I didn't think it was possible to open an ISA without providing your NI number.0

I just opened it on my Halifax app moved all the money over from my current account in January 2023 .0

Halifax required our NI numbers when we opened our ISA’s using the app in 2023 and 2024.0

Halifax are sticklers for checking completeness of customer records when transferring-out.
I had an ISA transfer-out once terminated as it turned out they never had my signature on file. They made me visit my local branch (which has very limited opening hours now) and show them loads of ID and sign a scrap of paper for them to send off somewhere to be scanned that apparently takes a few weeks then resubmit a fresh ISA transfer request with the new provider.0
