Address changed on credit file by company whilst in a DRO
Options
Hello,
I'm not sure of this is the correct place to put this but I'm looking for some advice.
Last week I received a notification from my credit report that I had an address change. When I logged on I can see that one of my creditors Intrum Finance UK have gone ahead and changed my address on file with them.
I hadn't spoken to Intrum Finance since I had a bit of trouble with them in October 2024. I also haven't moved house or updated my details with them
They have changed my address on file to read that of Stepchange's address. It now reads on all my credit files under Intrum Finance as me living at: Stepchange Debt Charity, 123 Albion Street, Leeds, LS2 8ER,
which is obviously incorrect.
I have contacted Intrum and asked if they can change this back to my current address as I haven't moved and this is now updated on all my credit files but they said they're unable to do this and I need to wait 6 years for it to fall off my credit file.
Is this correct? do I need to raise a dispute with all my credit files to say this is a mistake and I don't live at this address and never have or can Intrum change this at their end as they have changed it in error.
I'm unsure of what to do and I'm looking for some advice please.
Just to add I also haven't had any dealings with Stepchange since 2022 early 2023.
I am currently 6 months into a DRO which was put forward by Citizens advice not Stepchange.
Many thanks

Thank you. I'll dispute it with them all.
