Travel insurance cancelled

We have an annual multi trip travel insurance policy with Admiral. We had provided all our previous medical details and my wife has a new condition and has an operation booked. I thought I was doing the right thing and telling Admiral about the new condition and the fact we are waiting for the operation date. Admiral cancelled our insurance policy as we are now on a waiting list!!!!
it seems crazy that our policy is now cancelled. We have a couple of holidays booked and now I have to try and get new insurance even though we are on a waiting list,
Any advice on the situation or a travel insurance company that will cover us?

Has your wife's condition been diagnosed or is the surgery to find out what is wrong? You could try All Clear insurance. I think they provide cover when on a waiting list.2

All Clear was one I was going to mention too. And Staysure which I only know from ads and forum posts to deal with the subject. It will all depend on the condition your wife has I would think and no, unlikely to cover for a holiday missed because of going for the op.You may be able to get insurance for everything except your wifes current condition but that would put you at risk of having to pay medical bills and your stay with her, abroad. So you could end up paying more than the missed holidays.

I have just had surgery to remove a possible skin cancer (Squamous Cell Carcinoma) and I cannot get travel insurance to even cover my pre existing conditions, I had a kidney transplant 15 months ago.
They all say that because the SCC is undiagnosed they cannot provide cover until I have the results of the biopsy.
I asked if they would provide cover on the basis it was a cancer and they still refuse but if I try getting online quotes and declare that I have a SCC they will all give a price!0 -
Thanks everyone - I did get quotes from StaySure (£400) and All Clear (£140). I was shocked at the difference in price! We went with All Clear! My wife's condition won't be covered until the operation and biopsy result which we hope we will get before we travel. We can just update the insurance company.Once again - thanks to everyone.
