Summer house - electricity and internet ducting

I have a summer house being built and I’m trying to set it up for internet and electricity using CAT6 and 6mm SWA via ducting up through the concrete base. What size ducting would I need and can I run the cat6 and the armoured cable though the same ducting up through the base? I heard you can’t run electric cable and cat6 in the same ducting due to interference? Thanks

It's not ideal to run them next to each other, but STP cable can reduce the impact.0

One option is to use a twin wall duct.0

What size twin wall ducting …do you run the swa outside the ducting and the cat6 in the ducting? Or both within it? Or by using two wall, does this mean I don’t need swa?

SWA doesn't actually need ducting, it's armoured anyway. But you can if you think it's easier.Power and data lines shouldn't be run in the same containment unless the data cables are insulated to the same standard as the power lines. Most data cables are only 80V.Something like EV Ultra cable could make life easier, but it's only rated to Cat 5e, not Cat 6.If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
Fibre would be much better, no interference at all and around the same price. You would need media converters at either end which are about £20 each.

It should be noted that many of these cables have Class 5 conductors for the power cable so will absolutely require ferrules crimped to the ends before termination. They're not Class 2 conductors like regular SWA cable.
The best solution will be two separate ducts.{Signature removed by Forum Team - if you are not sure why we have removed your signature please contact the Forum Team}0 -
My experience of taking ducts only a few metres to my garage tells me you should have a duct much bigger than you might think you need. I had one about 2.5cm in diameter and I was surprised how hard it was to feed a Cat5 cable through what with its rough ribbed wall and bends.0

If you are using that flexible tubing, in place of a duct, it is far better to lay it out flat and pre cable it before laying it in the trench and installing it.0
