Problems with Raisin.co.uk, a savings platform mentioned in MSE's savings section.

Options
It's easy to put money into savings accounts with raisin.co.uk.  It's difficult to get the money out.  Are other people finding the same?  Raisin has 22% bad reviews at Trustpilot.com with complaints of slow payments, poor customer service and (in my case) intrusive demands for private documents to verify the source of my funds as soon as I attempted a withdrawal.  I first heard of raisin.co.uk on MSE, so it's logical to see what other people think.

I had a couple of accounts with Raisin, only because they were offering sign-up incentives. Depositing and withdrawing is slow, but this was not unexpected as it is detailed in the T&Cs. I did not have to provide ID documents as they could confirm my ID electronically but it would not have been a major issue if they had asked for additional proof of ID or other information that they need to comply with their licence.

The rates on offer through Raisin are mostly not competitive so I have not gone back there in a while. As and if they have a competitive offer, I would not hesitate to take it. I have never checked Trustpilot before selecting a savings or other account.
