Solar panels

I have just moved into a new build, I’m with Scottish power for my energy which is my best deal and I’ve been with them for years.
I have solar panels on my new property which I need to register to claim money back from the board.
Am I best going with Scottish power so it is all on the same account or should I use a different provider?

What rate do Scottish Power offer you? There are a few hoops to jump through to get set up. Do you have all the paperwork for the system, MCS Certificate and something from the DNO which will be either G.98 (small systems) or G.99 for larger. In your shoes I'd check out rates first. Typically you get a better rate if you move your supply as well, for example Octopus offer 15p/kWh to supply customers, but only 4p or something to others.sophie_olly said:I have just moved into a new build, I’m with Scottish power for my energy which is my best deal and I’ve been with them for years.I have solar panels on my new property which I need to register to claim money back from the board.Am I best going with Scottish power so it is all on the same account or should I use a different provider?0 -
Scottish Power are are known to have a very complicated system for setting up solar export. There have been previous threads where it has taken many months for people to get it set up, some gave up and went with another company.

A bit more detail would help us give you better advice.
How many solar panels and do you know the total (peak) wattage of the array?
Do you have a battery or just solar panels?
How is the house heated?
Do you have a working smart meter?0 -
That's only if you are an Octopus customer for import, meaning only if Octopus is the company you buy your electricity from. I think that is inevitably true, to get the best deal for export you need that same company to supply your electricity. So if Scottish power don't offer you a good deal for export consider changing to a different supplier.Oscarmax said:We are with Octopus 15 pence kWh for export.Reed1
