TA6 ground water flood due to poor drainage install by developers

Hi,

I have received the TA6 for a property I am purchasing, and it has been disclosed that 9 years ago, the garden flooded with ground water due to the ineptitude of the property developers failing to install drainage properly in a clay area.

This was promptly rectified and there have been no issues since.

As this is a one-off, does it require declaring on building insurance? It feels unfair that due to a developers mistake when the property was built 10 years ago that we are to suffer with the increased insurance premium. I have checked and it is not in a flood area, as per the flood report all potential risks are "very low".
